RT @LazioExplorer: Italy has a new Prime Minister - Enrico Letta. Here's how it happened ow.ly/koC0z via @guardian
I know three weeks is a very long time to be absent in blog land, and while it’s not exactly knitting, I think you’ll forgive my when you see why.

My third girl arrived January 16th, at the very large size of 10lbs 2oz (4.6 kg), and about 22 inches long. Shown here with my mother-in-law and her two older sisters.
I know it’s not a direct shot of the face, but trust me, she wasn’t that pretty the first few days. I think I referred to her as “hairy pond creature,” because my oldest informed one of our friends that that’s what babies look like at this age. I have some cuter pictures of her after she got over first 48 hours, where they tend to be so squashed.
I don’t think I realized how much the pregnancy was taking out of me in those last few weeks – although I’m not surprised now when I see how big she is. Some people have twins that add up to less than she weighed. I have this rush motivation now, even with a two week old a certain amount of sleep deprivation. I actually did a fair amount of knitting in the last two weeks, so I have some little things to catch up on, which is good since my main knitting is secret book project…
